This blood donation program was organised by Centre for Pathology Diagnostic and Research Laboratory (CPDRL) in collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara (PDN).
The aim of this programme was to generate awareness on blood donation and highlight its significance for saving lives, to support Pusat Darah Negara (PDN) by replenish the blood stock and to instil altruistic values in UiTM student and personnel.
To promote this event, announcement was circulated via email to member’s of the faculty. MESTA played a part in disseminating the information to all medical students. Multiple posters, banners and buntings regarding the programme were put up around Sg Buloh campus which includes the academic building, CTC and student’s residential college.
These programs, held on 6th March 2017 and 18th September 2017, were conducted at lobby of Academic Building, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM Sungai Buloh Campus, starting at 9am and ended at 4pm.
For both events, a total of 282 participants registered for blood donation. 200 participants were accepted for donation and 98 participants were rejected for various reason.
Majority of the participants were medical students; others were faculty personnel and students from dental faculty.
