This blood donation programme was organised by Centre for Pathology Diagnostic and Research Laboratories (CPDRL) and conducted in collaboration with Pusat Darah Negara (PDN).
The aim of this programme was to generate awareness on blood donation and highlight its significance for saving lives.
To promote this event, announcement was made during CPC and circulated via email to members of the faculty. Invitation has been extended to Sg Buloh Hospital’s staff via letter to the Hospital’s Director. Information on this programme was also disseminated through social media. Multiple posters, banners and buntings regarding the programme were put up around Sg Buloh campus. Posters were also put up in Sg Buloh Hospital and nearby Ibnu Sina mosque.
This one day event was held on the 26th of September 2016 (Monday) starting at 9.00 am in the morning and ended at 4.00 pm in the afternoon at the Lobby of Academic Building, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM Sungai Buloh campus.
A total number of 176 participants came for the blood donation programme. There was an increase in number of participation; from 155 participants during the first blood donation drive to 176 participants in this current programme. Majority of the blood donors were medical students. The other participants were faculty personnel. Refreshments were provided to all the participants and personnel involved.
